Porsche Carrera 2.7

"The new 2.5 litre Porsche carries on the philosophy of its creators. Let's replace something good with something better."

The first-generation 1972 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 has achieved cult status, with enthusiasts now paying 200,000 euros and more for one. The G-model with its 2.7-litre flat engine was officially discontinued for the 1976 model year and replaced by the 3.0-litre variant. This was due to new regulations and emissions standards that the potent 2.7 could no longer meet. Even so, cars intended for racing continued to be sold unofficially, their bodywork by then fully galvanised and therefore rust-resistant.
