Der TR wurde mit Blick auf die bestehenden Ferrari-Kunden entwickelt, von denen viele derzeit mit dem 500 TRC Modell Rennen fuhren. Der 500 TRC war f\u00fcr sein hervorragendes Fahrverhalten bekannt und der 250TR baute auf dieser Qualit\u00e4t auf, indem er ein \u00e4hnliches Chassis als Plattform nutzte, um einen viel leistungsf\u00e4higeren V12-Motor mit sechs Doppelvergasern einzubauen. Der 250 Testa Rossa gewann 1958 f\u00fcr Ferrari die Weltmeisterschaft der Hersteller.<\/p>\n<p>In diesem aufregenden Jahr f\u00fcr den Riesen aus Maranello wurde die &#171;Lucy Belle&#187; von dem Privatfahrer Ed Hugus unter der Startnummer &#171;22&#187; f\u00fcr die 24 Heures du Mans angemeldet. Das Rennen an der Sarthe lockte in jenem Jahr rund 150&#8217;000 Zuschauer an, die sich auf ein spannendes und eng beieinander liegendes Duell zwischen Ferrari, Jaguar, Aston Martin und Porsche freuten. Vor dem Hintergrund \u00e4hnlich starker Werksrennteams erreichte die Lucy Belle, die von Ed Hugus und seinem Teamkollegen Ray &#8218;Ernie&#8216; Erickson pilotiert wurde, einen lobenswerten siebten Gesamtrang.
