Hans Herrmann \u2013 racing legend
<\/strong>In March 2021, I had the privilege of visiting Hans Herrmann<\/a><\/span> to visit him at his home near Stuttgart. There, I was warmly welcomed by him and his charming wife. His dedication on the photograph showing him as a young racing driver together with Juan Manuel Fangio and Karl Kling was immortalised by Hans Herrmann and now graces the 1950s display case in the Z\u00dcRIRING Motodrom. Friendships between racing drivers were not uncommon in those days, even though there were always a few drivers in earlier times who raced unfairly. I would therefore like to highlight Hans Herrmann’s appreciative words, that in particular Jo Siffert<\/a><\/span> was a nice guy and a fair racing driver. Hans Herrmann still travels to Switzerland from time to time, and it will be a great honour for me to welcome him and his wife at the Z\u00dcRIRING Motodrom. Thank you, Mr Herrmann, for your trust. Rainer W. Schlegelmilch – Photographer \u00a0 \u00a0
<\/strong>As part of his final exam at the Bavarian State Institute for Photography in 1962, Rainer Schlegelmilch portrayed various racing drivers who competed in the 1,000 km race at the N\u00fcrburgring. Shortly thereafter, he attended his first Formula 1 Grand Prix in Spa-Francorchamps. In 1964 he opened his studio for photo design and advertising photography in Frankfurt. Since Rainer W. Schlegelmilch was by this time fascinated by motorsport, he continued to attend car races and sold \u2013 in addition to his advertising photography \u2013 photos to renowned publications such as Auto Motor und Sport, Powerslide, ADAC Motorwelt, Sports Car Graphic, Car & Driver, Road & Track, Auto Revue and AutoBild. Since 1993, Schlegelmilch has published around 40 illustrated books on vehicles from major car brands, the great years of sports car racing and Formula 1. Works about the teams, their drivers, but also about the technology and its protagonists.
In spring 2020, I wrote to Rainer W. Schlegelmilch and presented my project to him. From this enquiry a friendship has now blossomed, also with his charming wife Marianne. I would like to thank Rainer for his dedication in selecting his pictures from Motorsport Images, where his life\u2019s work \u2013 50 years of motorsport photography \u2013 has found a worthy showcase for a future in the digital age.<\/p>

Stefano Luzzatto \u2013 media designer
<\/strong>As a huge Formula 1 fan and media designer specialising in image editing and retouching, Stefano was a great help to us. With his professional background, Stefano applied to work with Rainer W. Schlegelmilch in 2001. He digitised his entire Formula 1 and sports car archive for him. Together with Rainer, Stefano designed numerous books and calendars. He was also responsible for all the image editing and pre-press work involved. All six display cabinets in the Z\u00dcRIRING-Motodrom were professionally edited and designed by Stefano. I'd like to thank him for the thoroughly enjoyable teamwork and great collaboration \u2013 without Stefano, the Z\u00dcRIRING-Motodrom wouldn't have this same appeal! \u00a0<\/p>
